
Hella Jongerius
Hella Jongerius (born 30 May 1963 in De Meern, Utrecht) is a Dutch industrial designer.
Jongerius was born in De Meern, a village to the west of Utrecht in the Netherlands in 1963. From 1988 to 1993, she studied design at the Design Academy Eindhoven. After graduating, she worked for a few projects at Droog Design. She founded her own studio called Jongeriuslab in Rotterdam in 1993. She taught at the Design Academy Eindhoven as head of the department Living/Atelier (1988–1993). Her clients include Maharam (New York), KLM (Netherlands), Vitra (Switzerland), IKEA (Sweden), Camper (Spain), Nymphenburg (Germany) and, Royal Tichelaar Makkum (Netherlands). Her designs have been exhibited at galleries and museums such as the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum (New York), MoMA (New York), Stedelijk Museum (Netherlands), Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen (Rotterdam), the Design Museum (London), Galerie kreo (Paris) and Moss Gallery (New York). In 2008 Jongerius moved her studio to Berlin.

Vitra
Polder Compact Sofa, designed by Hella Jongerius, is a comfortable sofa derived from the combination of diverse fabrics and colours, an asymmetrical shape and charming details. It is made with awooden frame. The seat and cushions are made with polyurethane foam with interactive pocket spring core, chamber cushions and polyester fleece. The armrest cushion are detached bolster, freely positionable, sand-weighted with a polyurethane foam filling. The cover of the sofa is a coordinated combinations of colours and fabric types and is removable. It featues in multiple colors like red, green, golden yellow, and night blue.

Vitra
Vlinder, designed by Hella Jongerius, combines the archetypal form of a comfortable sofa with a precisely tailored duvet-like fabric cover. The textile cover bears the Dutch designer's distinctive signature and pushes the boundaries of modern weaving technology: eight colours with yarns of two different thicknesses comprise the various levels of seven different jacquard weaves. Vlinder is perfectly complemented by Bovist, a stool, ottoman and floor pillow whose motif and colour scheme are inspired by the sofa's design. The vlinder sofa has a wooden frame with zigzag springs in the seat section and upholstery webbing in the backrest. The body of the sofa is a multilayer polyurethane foam in different levels of firmness, top layer made of viscoelastic foam, with polyester fleece. The chamber cushion structure, filled with a mix of goose feathers and down, as well as polyurethane and latex rods. Three-part design (two armrest sections, one seat-backrest section). Secured to sofa body with zip fasteners. All the covers of the sofa are removable. Vlinder sofa is available in a variety of colors which are dark red, dark green, light red, and light green.
