Tomyris | Chair

Tomyris Chair pays homage to the Queen of the Massagetai, a pastoral-nomadic confederation of Central Asia east of the Caspian Sea.

Pietro defines this chair with sculptural form through the imposing brass legs in a royal yet bovine feel. The playful sculptural chair features a round-shaped upholstered seat on a trio of angled brass legs. The upholstered floating curved backrest is held in place by sculpted brass arm. The piece is upholstered in lamb skin.

This is part of Pietro's collection inspired by Neonetic design, which is based on the biological term “neoteny,” a reference to an organism’s uneven physical development as it ages from it soft, rounded and pudgy features. Hence, his pieces evoke of soft shapes with unconventional proportions and cartoon-like feels.
