The studio has created new materials such as ‘Elephant Skin’, transforming recycled plastic into new tactile and textural materials used in innovative designs.

Founded by Dirk van der Kooij, the studio merges advanced production techniques with a hands-on, sculptural approach. Using recycled plastics, repurposed materials, and custom-engineered processes, Kooij crafts pieces that feel both futuristic and deeply connected to the physicality of making. With an ethos of experimentation and reinvention, the brand reinvents contemporary furniture, offering designs that are as dynamic as the spaces they inhabit.
