Tai Ping is a globally respected studio dedicated to the art of bespoke, handmade carpets and rugs. From the intricate knots of Nepalese weavers to the refined precision of hand-tufted and broadloom techniques, every piece is shaped by a commitment to quality and detail. With roots in traditional craftsmanship, the studio brings a fresh perspective to luxury flooring, playing with texture, form, and a rich palette of natural fibre such as Tibetan wool, silk, and flax to create pieces that feel both timeless and expressive.
“Tai Ping’s ethos of community, longevity and employee care began in the company’s first workshop in 1956 and it proudly continues today”

Founded by Lawrence and Horace Kadoorie, alongside a circle of international collaborators, Tai Ping began as a philanthropic initiative to provide employment for migrant workers in post-war Hong Kong. Today it stands as a global authority in bespoke carpet design for super yachts, private jets, luxury hotels and distinguished residences.
With flagship factories in Xiamen and Nepal and showrooms spanning New York, London, Paris, Shanghai, Milan, and more, Tai Ping offers a fully integrated production process, from yarn sourcing and dyeing to weaving, sculpting, and finishing.
Certified for sustainable practices and supported by a dedicated in-house concierge team, Tai Ping merges ethical craftsmanship with uncompromising quality, creating heirloom pieces that embody both place and process.
“Even as it journeys from the remote villages of Nepal, across the world to meet the demands of the most cosmopolitan designers, architects and textile connoisseurs, the Tai Ping hand-knotted rug, a one-of-a-kind creation that no machine can replicate, carries with it the spirit of its native land”
