Blue Copper Loft
Design: ANARCHITECT
Scope of work:
FF&E, OS&E, Architectural finishes
Client:
2024
Located in a contemporary landmark in the heart of Dubai, Blue Copper Loft is the result of a complete reconfiguration of a former three-bedroom duplex penthouse by ANARCHITECT.
The client, a frequent traveller, commissioned the transformation into an open-plan home that removes conventional spatial boundaries.
“The clients’ love of travel and experience of unique properties and places around the world led them to want to live boundless, without the restriction of enclosed rooms in their own home,” explains Jonathan Ashmore, Founding Principal of ANARCHITECT.
Working closely with the architectural team, COLLECTIONAL developed the full FF&E package, sourcing and curating materials and furnishings that align with the project’s spatial concept and material palette. Natural surfaces, custom finishes, and crafted pieces were selected to support the open flow and defined transitions of the space.
Key architectural interventions include the repositioning of the main staircase, which previously dominated the living area. “The existing staircase stood dominant in the main living-dining room, overpowering the double-height space,” says Ashmore. “Our solution was to reverse its access and conceal the main structure behind a patina-copper feature wall.”
The duplex includes a ground floor with a custom kitchen in leathered stone and stainless steel, a terrace, and a darker enclosed TV room. The upper gallery accommodates a home office and open master suite, with a walk-in dressing area and ensuite bathroom featuring a large stone shower and access to a second planted terrace.
Throughout the residence, the selection of furniture and finishes contribute to a cohesive spatial experience rooted in natural materials and clearly articulated transitions.
