Ellipt Warp Series
By Grietje Schepers
Year: 2025 Commissioned by COLLECTIONAL
Elliptic Warp is a sculptural triptych exploring the mirrored choreography of the cosmic and the microscopic.
Designed as a suspended installation, the three monumental pieces, each 2.4 meters tall, are composed of aluminium frames coated in a fine metallic Lahore finish, intricately layered with hand-woven wool felt and hand-painted paper in vivid pink, orange, and red hues. More than 90 custom LED tubes illuminate the forms, casting an ethereal glow and enhancing the circular movement that defines each composition.

Through Plot 6 COLLECTIONAL and Grietje Schepers’ conversations, the goal for the bespoke piece was to create a luminous, immersive installation that would evoke movement, balance, and the subtle harmonies of unseen systems. Material selections, lighting design, and scale were tailored to respond to the architecture of the space, resulting in a work that is both site-responsive and transportive.

This commission exemplifies our commitment to championing collectible, one-of-a-kind design at architectural scale. From early conceptual studies and technical drawings, to on-site installation and documentation, COLLECTIONAL supports artists and designers in developing fully realized, ambitious works that elevate the environments they inhabit.
