Urban Fabric

In every contemporary settlement across the globe, the past, present, and future seamlessly intertwine, each reliant upon the other for sustenance and growth. The construction of the new invariably draws upon the enduring wisdom and expertise of preceding generations, manifesting a symbiotic relationship inherent in the very fabric of our urban landscapes. With history and culture as the bedrock of craftsmanship, and industrial efficiency, precision, and digital innovation marking contemporary milestones, the convergence of these elements undoubtedly heralds a future characterised by a dynamic synthesis of tradition, innovation, and progress.

Urban Fabric constitutes a thorough examination of this convergence, originating from the fundamental components that define our immediate environments. It encompasses a wide spectrum of materials, spanning from metal, concrete, and glass to wood, plastic, and even virtual elements. Each concept presented resonates with its creators, emerging from and reflecting their cultural roots and aesthetic sensibilities. Drawing upon extensive expertise in state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques and a steadfast commitment to upholding artisanal traditions, the seven Asian artists featured in Series 001 hail from or are based in creative hubs such as Tokyo, Seoul, Hangzhou, and Milan.
