APPARATUS is an interdisciplinary design studio redefining the interplay of lighting, furniture, and objects within their environments. Rooted in the modernist principle of Gesamtkunstwerk, a total work of art, their collections articulate a unified vision where each piece emerges as an artifact of a cohesive, historical, and cultural narrative. Emotional landscapes are always conveyed and infused within each individual piece.

Under the leadership of Artistic Director and CEO Gabriel Hendifar, APPARATUS operates galleries in New York, Los Angeles, and London, showcasing its distinctive design ethos. Each piece is crafted in the studio’s New York factory, combining materials like marble, suede, horsehair, lacquer, and porcelain with hand-patinated brass. This commitment to small-scale craftsmanship ensures a balance between mechanization and the soulful irregularity of the handmade. APPARATUS celebrates the contradictions of perfection and humanity, offering designs that resonate as both functional objects and artistic expressions.
