Ajowan I Hand-tufted Rug
Designer:
Tai Ping
The Ajowan I Rug by Tai Ping draws inspiration from the Japanese Shibori tie-dye technique. Hand-tufted in wool and delicate silk, it plays with contrasting fibers to create the illusion of ink and color. Dark, textured loops recall the fabric’s bound knots, while soft silk highlights evoke untouched spaces. A diagonal line bisects the surface, producing a mirror effect of dark and light.
