Imagine, 2023 is created using Ange Dakouo’s signature technique of weaving together recycled newsprint, cardboard, and cotton thread. Inspired by the protective amulets (gris-gris) of Malian hunter culture, the piece reflects Dakouo’s interest in collective memory and the bonds that unite individuals within a community.
