Part of the Genesis collection by Christopher Boots, the Prometheus III Astraea reimagines the theft of fire as an explosion of blazing crystal, venerating its namesake in a ring of flame now cast in lapis lazuli, the blue mineral used for adorning sacred objects for millennia. Named for the goddess of the starry sky, it carries the night within it: an ultramarine surface alive with subtle variation and shifting reflection, as though stars have settled in stone. The creative potential itself, once given to humankind, now finds form in mineral permanence.
