COLLECTIONAL at UDXG EXPO Performa Mexico
Mexico City
Group Show

In every vibrant cultural capital, the convergence of heritage, innovation, and experimentation is essential to the shaping of contemporary creative expression. At the intersection of deep-rooted craft traditions and the evolving language of design, Mexico City emerges as a nexus, where makers, collectors, institutions, and ideas from across the world come together to reflect, respond, and reimagine.
COLLECTIONAL’s participation at Unique Design X Group (UDX), during Material Art Fair 2024, marked a continuation of this ongoing dialogue. The gallery presented a curated selection of works by EWE Studio, Héctor Esrawe, Lucas Recchia, and Manu Bañó, each piece situated at the intersection of cultural identity, material intelligence, and sculptural function.
UDX, as a nomadic fair, is dedicated to the promotion of collectible design, functional art, and skate culture, unfolding across borders and disciplines, while fostering a pluralistic and inclusive vision of creativity. Its 2024 edition, set within Mexico City’s thriving art and design ecosystem, provided a platform for exploring how objects can transcend functionality to become vessels of meaning, memory, and transformation.
The works presented by COLLECTIONAL embody this perspective: a commitment to process, a reverence for material, and a belief in the enduring power of form. They reflect a tension between artisanal craftsmanship and industrial technique, between the permanence of tradition and the fluidity of contemporary life.
In bringing these voices together, COLLECTIONAL’s presence at UDX contributed to a shared landscape of design inquiry—one that embraces complexity, invites contemplation, and foregrounds the role of collectible design in shaping our collective future.
