Luke Irwin is a rug studio specialising in custom-designed, hand-knotted rugs that fuse historical motifs with modern sensibility. Drawing on inspirations from ancient Ikat textiles, Roman mosaics, frescoes, cloud formations, and Italian folk design, each rug is a bespoke expression, meticulously woven from wool, silk, cashmere, sari silk and mohair by master craftsmen in India, Pakistan, Nepal and Afghanistan.

Founded by award-winning designer Luke Irwin, the studio’s collaborative design process offers complete control over size, palette, texture, weave and pattern, ensuring that each piece becomes the unifying foundation of a space. The studio is known for its storytelling approach, with collections often rooted in personal narrative, cultural research or archaeological discovery, such as their renowned mosaic-inspired designs developed after uncovering a Roman palace beneath Irwin’s home. With a showroom on Pimlico Road, the leading design street in London, notable clients include luxury hotels, members’ clubs, royalty, Hollywood stars, world famous musicians and international design studios. Luke Irwin’s rugs are celebrated for their narrative depth, craftsmanship and elegance.
