Bageri Form

Client: Commercial

Designer: BONE Architecture

Scope of work: FF&E, Architectural Finishes

Located in Dubai Design District, Bageri Form is a small-batch artisanal bakery designed by BONE Studio that transforms the concept of baking process into spatial organization.

The intervention to the existing shell was kept minimal, with the focus placed on free-standing structures that organize production without enclosing it. Handmade clay bricks assemble into volumetric blocks, each housing a component of the open bakery. The contradiction between the existing architecture and the new volumes creates a deliberate tension that defines the project's character.

Working closely with the design team, COLLECTIONAL acquired the handmade terracotta bricks that support the vision, the process-based approach, and muted material palette.

The bakery unfolds through distinct functional zones created by the modular brick volumes. Staff and customers interact freely between stations in a barrier-free arrangement. The modularity strengthens as elements accumulate; individual blocks turn into a unified composition that serves the purpose of baking while maintaining spatial openness.

Muted material tones recede behind the color and scent of baked goods, allowing the product itself to lead the sensory experience. In the outdoor area, local desert vegetation is distributed throughout the garden, creating intimate seating pockets that extend the bakery's relaxed character beyond the interior.
