WHAT IS LOVE?
WHAT IS LOVE?
COLLECTIONAL Newsletter: February 2026 Issue
Baby don’t hurt me, don’t hurt me…. no more.
And just like that, Haddaway is playing in your head.. and in ours, as we write this.
Love, much like good design, lives everywhere.
In old Arabic Songs about heartbreak.
In the way someone treats their dog like a limited-edition collectible.
In grand gestures and tiny rituals.
In the extra coffee made in the morning, the last bite of tiramisu saved at dinner, the quiet kindnesses no one else sees.
Love is beautiful, deceptively simple, utterly complex, and somehow powerful enough to unite us and undo us all at once.
We do the most unexpected things, for love.
We sit through football matches we don’t understand, for love.
We attempt recipes far beyond our skill-level and pray they don’t collapse like a poorly engineered shelf, for love.
We pretend to enjoy questionable TV shows, for love.
We analyse punctuation like we’re reviewing a design brief, for love.
We forgive lateness, mismatched socks, and terrible playlists, for love.
And somewhere between overcooked dinners, missed calls, shared silences, and the heroic effort of many not to text an ex, we found ourselves asking: what is love, really?
Is it the butterflies and the chaos, or the sometimes-melancholic calm that follows?
The thrill of discovery, or the comfort of knowing someone so well that words become optional. Is it the statement piece that steals your breath, or the quiet object that becomes essential over time?
Maybe love isn’t about perfection, maybe it’s about presence. About choosing, every day, to show up. And in that choice, messy and tender and wonderfully human, love creates a feeling we recognize instantly: home.
When you find real love, you feel at home.
So, on this day, our wish is simple: may you find a love that feels safe, warm, and deeply yours.
A love that feels like home.
We do, of course, provide and curate the sofas, tables, carpets, and chairs that help create that feeling of home. But today, and only today, that’s not really the point.
Or maybe just a little.
Happy Valentine’s Day,
