The Cavus Sconce 01 Wall Light by Jan Ernst emerges from the Karoo's hidden geology. A single hollow of white stoneware that cradles light like a recess carved by wind into ancient stone. Its undulating aperture releases warmth, the interior texture bearing the prints of hand-worked clay. The form appears unearthed rather than made, a fragment of South African landscape suspended in vertical stillness. A meditation on interior and exterior, where the hollow becomes luminous and the carved space invites contemplation.
