The Vulcan Console
Designer:
Diego Villarreal Vagujhelyi
The Vulcan Console by Vagujhelyi evokes the slow transformation of magma into hardened volcanic stone, its hand-sculpted surface marked by textured impressions and finished with a deep black patina. Deliberately modeled to retain the artist’s tactile fingerprints, the piece carries a raw physicality that speaks to process, pressure, and material memory. Anchored by a recessed port that draws the participant into a reverent kneeling posture, the console becomes both sculptural furnishing and ceremonial object.
