Graduating in architecture in 1951, Sergio Rodrigues co-founded OCA in 1955. The company served as a crucial "laboratory" for Brazilian furniture and crafts, establishing itself as a pivotal part of Brazil's modernist furniture evolution. Between 1954 and 1958, he created iconic pieces such as the Mocho Stool, the Oscar Armchair, and the Mole Armchair, the latter winning an award in Italy in 1961. At the invitation of Oscar Niemeyer, he also designed furniture for important buildings in Brasília.

Over the course of 60 years, Rodrigues produced more than 1,500 furniture pieces, developing a distinctive style that captured the Brazilian essence. His works, often crafted from native woods such as Jacarandá, Peroba, and Imbuia, set the standard for modern Brazilian furniture, earning him the title of “father of modern Brazilian furniture.”
LinBrasil, through its Sergio Rodrigues furniture line, honors this legacy by remaining faithful to the original designs. The production process combines modern and traditional techniques with a strong environmental commitment, ensuring that all native woods used are sourced responsibly and legally harvested, with authorization from IBAMA (Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources).
