Draga & Aurel
Draga & Aurel is a multidisciplinary studio and workshop for art, collectible design, and furnishing items. Armed with a diversified background in art, fashion, and craftsmanship, Draga & Aurel are widely known for combining original methods with an artistic approach to materials and composition.
Thanks to their sympathetic methods, combined with an artist’s approach to material and composition, Draga & Aurel are widely recognized for their clever reinvention of bespoke vintage design pieces. Their showing at 2009’s Salone del Mobile introduced the duo to the world stage; it followed the partnerships with Italian leather manufacturer Baxter, wallpaper brand Wall&Deco, the major American fashion retailer Anthropologie and the Italian luxury furniture company Visionnaire.
In occasion of the 2019 Milan Design Week the design duo presented Transparency Matters, an exhibition of limited edition pieces, entirely fabricated by hand in their Como atelier.
THE BRAND

Concrete, textured, solid, and rough. In contrast with the transparency and brightness of resin but at the same time similar in workmanship and pliant potential, cement can create minimal, sculptural, and almost monumental forms. The Rive bench is made in concrete with a texture created by corrosion using sea salt, which brings the material to life. A hand-finished brass leg contrasted against black concrete leaves an elegant impact.⠀
Draga & Aurel
Made from cast resin and a semi-lucid brass free-standing frame, this large partition screen is characterized by the transparency of the resin, which creates light effects and color nuances. The unique shades were achieved by working with the resin in its moulds, colouring it while still liquid. The partitions are dual-facing, creating beautiful transparent veils to divide a space.

A superb and inimitable showcase of craftsmanship, this unique coffee table is part of the Transparency Matters Collection. Entirely crafted by hand through the casting techniques of both resin and brass, it is composed of a one-of-a-kind resin top boasting a polished emerald green tone that results from a unique combination of three layers of mold. The finished piece looks like a precious gem. The elegant column-style base is a cylinder made of brass enriched by a natural golden finish. Also available in other colors and measures, any variation in the top is not to be considered a flaw but a stylistic choice of the designer. Materials: Cast resin and Solid brass
