Hervé Langlais is both an architect and designer of note. After training at the Normandy School of Architecture, he was for over 15 years the close colleague of international architect Paul Andreu. Notable collaborations include the National Centre for the Performing Arts of Beijing, the Shanghai Oriental Art Centre, Roissy Airport and numerous other high-profile projects in France and abroad.

From 2012 to 2020 he is the artistic director of the Negropontes gallery, where on an annual basis he created an exclusive collection of objects and furniture, each a single and unique item, in the fine tradition of the French decorative arts.

Alongside his work with the Galerie Negropontes, he also produces his own creative work in limited editions, once signed off with French craft-houses, as well as marble pieces produced in Italy. These latter creations, architectural, even brutal, in design, are more radical in their conception – the work is guided by the presentation of the precious substance in its full weight and heft, but always accompanied by great attention to the finest details.
