The front and sides are in our unique indigo and burnished straw marquetry inlaid with abalone, mother-of-pearl and patinated copper. This is a finish conceived and created in our own workshops -an example of our important work in innovation and design using prestigious Finishes. Oh, and our cabinets are almost as beautiful on the back as the front. Fine smoked Eucalyptus trims cover the screws that create a beautiful tailored experience on the verso of the Prism. A shadow cabinet. The base is made from layered cast bronze that evokes the rawness of sculpted rock. The body of the cabinet is covered in black ebony straw meticulously inlaid in a dark sunburst pattern around the central bronze handles. Smokey figured Eucalyptus exterior meets the tones of natural mica on the front and a powerful bronze cicada handle sits at centre above bamboo-inspired wrapped legs. A tall cabinet in parchment and polished brass. “I wanted the octopus to emerge from the depths through a forest of light-scattered coral beneath the ocean. To achieve this effect I developed a way to apply coral patterns onto the dark parchment while retaining the natural organic quality of the goatskins.” Interior lined with Ivory parchment. The straw marquetry is dyed by hand in our own workshops to five subtle tones of Burnt Coral before being inlaid in a sunburst pattern.
