Tarquini Martensson And Michael Tarp Jensen
Tarquini Mårtensson, Michael Tarp Jensen, armchairs, black lacquered plywood, metal, wool, Denmark, 1974 Danish architects Tarquini Mårtensson and Michael Tarp Jensen designed this rare pair of chairs for Idrættens Hus ('House of Sports'). This impressive Brutalist complex was situated in Brøndby, a few kilometers outside of Kopenhagen and built in 1974. The spacious venue featured sports facilities, offices and meeting rooms. Today, the Danish Sports Confederation is still held in Idrættens Hus together with Team Denmark, Anti Doping Denmark and a number of special federations. Inside the building, the function-driven and well constructed furniture compliments the sturdy exterior of the building. The black lacquered chairs show an honest construction with all metal joints and mounts visible. The rounded seats are upholstered in a bright green wool. The open construction of the chairs contribute to the architectural feeling the chairs evoke. Seat Height: 44 CM

The Rosae Pedestals demonstrate the designer's Goula/Figuera's ability to tame and constrain a material while creating a unique duality. These solid Walnut or Brushed Oak side tables have a textured base and legs that have been gouged and scooped out that starkly oppose the smooth and silky tabletop. The finish is different than the actual product finish

Infusion sculptures are made by using the Italian-trained techniques of layering and banding multiple colored bubbles of glass as a way to generate washes of sensuous, painterly color in a kiln-cast solid mass. Jamie invented a process to create these sculptures, beginning by creating the colored motifs as bubbles of blown glass that are transformed into groups of solid-glass, which are finally cast into blocks and carved and polished into the final shape. So much of the fabrication of these pieces is invested in the science of prediction: anticipating how the color of a bubble blown at the furnace will dilute days later when cast as a solid object, forecasting how fields will distort and move as elements are joined in the casting. These pieces are stop-motion reinterpretations of the traditional Italian-glass “incalmo” format, tracking in place the flowing movement of molten glass, capturing the subtle gradation from a whisper of transparent color to a saturated intensity.

Meteors slash through the sky, dazzling all who witness their strangeness. It is this primal, cosmic energy that is captured in METEOR. METEOR implements a delicate hand-picked selection of gradations of natural smoky quartz and natural clear quartz, conveying the dynamism and movement of cosmic matter plummeting to Earth. Warm light emanates through the naturally uncut crystals, providing a dramatic glow through dimmable LED technology.
Refractory
The Tributary Occasional Table, designed by Refractory, is an exploration of these planes, channels, and primary and secondary surfaces. The cast bronze frame and lower surface together support hand-polished kiln cast glass.
Refractory
The Tallow Occasional Table, designed by Refractory, which serves as an occasional table. The table is made of cast bronze and has a natural finish, giving it a unique and rustic appearance. The design of the table is inspired by the shape of tallow candles.
Apparatus
The Circuit creates rhythm with the repetition of pure shapes. A glowing glass capsule nests in a brass shade, becoming a contained form that multiplies to construct larger fixtures.
Apparatus
Lariat Pendant by Gabriel Hendifar for Apparatus is reminiscent of forms found in jewelry—etched glass teardrops hang from finely woven brass mesh. Taut lines and graceful swags are weighted by elongated orbs, addressing an intersection of geometry and gravity.
