
Konstantin Grcic
Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich, Germany in 1965. He trained as a cabinetmaker at Parnham College in the U.K. and later received a Master's degree in Industrial Design at the Royal College of Art in London.
He established Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design (KGID) in 1991. Through his firm, he has worked on furniture, products, and lighting for some of the leading companies in the design field. Many of his products have received international awards, including a “Compasso d′Oro” in 2001, and are a part of permanent collections in museums such as New York’s Museum of Modern Art, Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, and others worldwide.
The Royal Society for the Arts appointed Konstantin “Royal Designer for Industry” and in 2010 Design Miami named him “Designer of the Year.”

The Citizen Lowback, designed by Konstantin Grcic, is an armchair combining an unconventional design with a new way of sitting: the seat is suspended on three cables, enabling a pleasant swinging movement and a unique dynamic experience for the sitter. The frame is made of tubular steel, powder-coated in deep black.It features a beautiful green emerald cover with material in laser re. The chair has a back support shell in rigid polyurethane foam, encased in moulded polyurethane foam. The base is four-star swivel base made of tubular steel, powder-coated in deep textured black finish, plastic glides with felt inserts.

Noctambule Suspension 6 Low Cylinder Suspension Lamp, designed by Konstantin Grcic, is a hanging lamp consisting of interconnecting glass modules that evoke elements in their preferred combination. Noctambule is almost invisible during the day but transforms into an impressive, illuminated column of light when switched on in the dark, emitting a delicate glow from the optical opal silicone ring diffusers.
