Marco Guazzini
A collection inspired by the ellipse which repeats itself in the geometric forms of elements, enhanced by the sinuous sections and propositions. Pieces are created for MINT Gallery and presented at the Saatchi Gallery (London).

The vase recalls the decorations of the Chinese ceramics of the Ming dynasty from which these products are inspired, through the stylized landscapes designed by colored wool fibers. A Production of objects in limited edition and unique pieces dedicated to Marwoolus, an innovative material conceived and realized by Marco Guazzini designer. Unique for its nature: it's made of marble and wool, which natural fibers reproduce the typical veinings in a not replicable way.

An irregular, rock-like configuration splits apart to form the base. Each structure echoes the other’s form, emphasising where they were once joined together

SILA is a creation of various craftsmen from the talented Berlin-based Atelier Stefan Leo. Thought as a side-table this piece of gem shows the intricate work of straw marquetry and solid brass. These two unexpected materials give the piece, despite their incompatible looks, an unexpectedly elegant and poetic allure.

Solsticio revisits the interest in light’s journey through different surfaces, continuing the explorations in pieces like ‘Parabola’ and ‘Shifting Parabola’, it analyzes the passing of light on metallic surfaces to understand refraction, paths and fragmentation in different planes that gradually highlight its many faces. Solsticio displays a series of luminous metal pieces, radially articulated and assembled, where the light fragments and bounces its spectrum in several directions. The absence of light becomes as relevant as its presence. The resulting objects present as industrial quality machines, as if in laboratory or a research facility — manifesting a dystopian vision of the future as imagined by our ancestors; specially alluding to time machines and space travels of the 40’s and 50’s, and even analogies found in dystopias like ‘Metropolis’ (1927) by Fritz Lang.

Litorale is a washbasin countertop with an uninterrupted linear basin available in lengths ranging from 80 to 240 cm. Only 6 cm thick, Litorale is manufactured in solid surface and it can be equipped with a number of trays available in three different sizes (20, 40 and 60 cm) made either in iroko or in the same material as the basin itself. For lengths above 160 cm, Litorale can be equipped with two faucets. In this case, to ensure proper flow management, the basin has to be equipped with the same number of wastes. The washbasin allows the installation of both over-countertop and wall mounted taps.

Together with the bathtub of the same name, this new series of architectural washbasins marks the launch of the collaboration between Agape and the French architect. Thanks to an ingenious system of invisible joints, the surfaces appear to simply approach one another side by side. The effect is both imposing and light, essential and material. The washbasins are available in the countertop, wall-mounted and freestanding versions. All channeled thanks to the suitably inclined plane of the basin, they combine vertical and horizontal surfaces for a rigorous architectural structure. A towel bar or storage component may be added.

The washbasin in the “Ell” series is an iconic but lightweight piece. The flat surface with its breakwater-grill is also the basin, and the two become a single element. Today, in a simultaneously creative and rigorous sequence, the investigation arrives at the pure essence of the washbasin. Two simple architectural elements that radicalize functions. The entire surface, completely integrated with a breakwater-grill, eliminates the usual basin and emphasizes its dual use as a washbasin and support surface. The piece comes in a wide range of finishes: the top is in white Carrara, grey Carnic, black Marquina or green Alpi marble, the grille is in white or deep caviar Corian®, and the column is in white or dark powder-coated steel.

With the sink of the same name, the new bathtub with an architectural imprint marks the debut of the collaboration between Agape and the French architect. In the construction of the tub, the tops appear simply juxtaposed, thanks to an ingenious system of invisible joints. Surfaces that touch each other and, with a design that is extremely attentive to the inclination of the tops that become the back, transform the tub into a comfortable nest where you can sit, lie down, read, relax. An abstract object which by contrast enhances, like the washbasin, the almost baroque splendor of marble.
