Project Overview
Located in Dubai, UAE, the Dubai Hills Villa, designed by ANARCHITECT, is a family home that embodies modernist principles with refined spatial interventions, a high-quality natural material palette, and pristine detailing. The design was focused on creating a space where a family could thrive, balancing their busy lives with individual passions such as fashion, art, motorsports, and social gatherings.
Design Philosophy
The design process, as explained by Jonathan Ashmore, founder and principal of ANARCHITECT, involved visualizing how each family member would use every space within the home, ensuring that each area was tailored to their needs and preferences.
Unique Features and Layout
The villa's entrance level includes private offices, a library, a central courtyard, and a gallery leading to the main living areas: an open living space, bespoke kitchen, and family dining area. These spaces open out to an outdoor area featuring a swimming pool, sun terrace, and gardens. Additionally, the children’s bespoke bedrooms are modern and refined, yet evoke a sense of play and adventure with varying levels, secret hiding spots, slides, and ladders.

Project Overview
Nuzul Al Salam Boutique Hotel, part of The Year Of Zayed initiative, is a renovated traditional Bahraini house transformed into a boutique hotel in Muharraq, Bahrain. This government project was a collaboration between the UAE’s Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development and Bahrain’s Shaikh Ebrahim Center for Culture and Research.
Design and Restoration
Ammar Basheir, the appointed interior designer, rejuvenated the traditional structure into a contemporary hotel. The hotel, nestled in the old streets of Muharraq, features a majlis (reception area), dining room, central courtyard, and six suites. These suites draw inspiration from the mythical epic of Gilgamesh, specifically the theme of the flower of eternity.
Thematic Suites
Each suite in the hotel is uniquely named after a theme from the poem: Light, Vision, Flower of Eternity, Sea, Hope, and Sun, encapsulating different facets of the legendary narrative.
